The bit that says binary literally does binary, the computers starts screeching from it's buzzer and the screen is filled with junk for a minute.

I did this with a Z65 driver file: ДЄnd finally got a successful test page. The file name references to your driver filenames. To have the Z35 driver file: Дownload this file and follow the instructions on this forum changing I'd suggest using google to search for the driver file from an archive site.

It seems Lexmark don't want to support Linux drivers anymore :-( I only started using Ubuntu this year, and am only having problems installing the driver for my Lexmark Z35 Colour Jet Printer. Is there anything else that I can do please? After doing all this, I paused and thought, whoa whoa whoa, which printer did I just set? I double clicked it and up popped this dialog box.I went to the Lexmark website to download the Z35 driver for Ubuntu (Linux), selected the Linux/Unix tab, and no OS comes up! So I head over to Devices and Printers, look for the laserjet (the icon looks just like the printer irl), and without any thought right-clicked and set it as default printer. I opened up Device Manager in search of the printer, and lo and behold there it was, under the Printers section! So I did a bit of Googling for about half an hour, even ended up on HP's website, and they suggested I opened up Devices and Printers. That's when I decided it's time to play 'Eliminate those Variables!', and plugged it up to the home computer/Plex server, where it was detected just fine.

I thought something was up with the cable, so I held it at every imaginable angle and observed no difference, it still wasn't showing up. No worries, I thought, I unplugged it and plugged it in again.
